<![CDATA[global market day...use your consumer dollars to aid the World's poor - Blog]]>Sat, 26 May 2012 06:40:39 -0800Weebly<![CDATA[Global Market Day was a huge success!!]]>Sun, 20 Nov 2011 12:53:24 -0800http://www.globalmarketday.org/1/post/2011/11/global-market-day-was-a-huge-success.htmlHi everyone,

Just a quick note before I get back to GMD emails, to say a massive thank you to everyone who came on Friday night! Our bigger venue was a very handy as we were packed out with stallholders, volunteers and visitors.

Thank you to the volunteers who made my job so easy - set up and pack down was the quickest it's ever been and the night ran so smoothly thanks to your help.

Thank you to our stallholders for giving up your Friday night to be a part of GMD. We sincerely appreciate everything you do and love having you as part of our GMD family.

Thank you to all the visitors and everyone who bough something on Friday night. Know that your mine is keeping people in business, keeping kids in school and empowering families to break free of the poverty cycle.

If you have any feedback or suggestions, please email Kate at admin@globlmark

<![CDATA[Event flyers and posters are designed!]]>Sat, 08 Oct 2011 23:38:58 -0800http://www.globalmarketday.org/1/post/2011/10/event-flyers-and-posters-are-designed.htmlHi everyone,

Please download our event flyer and poster and distribute amongst your networks. We would love your help with advertising this event!

I'm am so incredibly excited about this market - we have over 45 businesses and organisations attending (double the size of last year!), we have a bigger and better venue, a wonderful planning team and the biggest group of volunteers from both churches we've ever had. Please help us out with advertising so we can get the most people we've ever had there before too. My desire is to see a 'heart change' amongst our local community - that people will learn about and engage with global issues such as child labour and abject poverty, that they'll realise the power their consumer dollars have and that they will embrace the vision of hope that fair-trade brings.Don't forget to follow us on facebook and twitter to keep up to date with latest news!Kate

<![CDATA[Why I love packing Fair Trade Shoeboxes...]]>Tue, 12 Oct 2010 16:24:58 -0800http://www.globalmarketday.org/1/post/2010/10/why-i-love-packing-fair-trade-shoeboxes.htmlSo much happening in the Global Market Day office today!! Thanks to the awesome Pam McGann from Siham Craftlink, we will have a WHOLE table full of drastically reduced price fair trade goodies for you to pack in your shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child!! Pam has gorgeous little goodies for as cheap as $2 - so you can pack your shoebox to the brim!

Packing a fair trade shoe box is so awesome:
1. You feel great about doing something for someone else living in poverty
2. The people who make the products get paid fairly and have the chance to break the cycle of poverty through fair trade initiatives

3. AND the child receiving it feels loved and special!!

A present that gives three-fold. Love it.

Who's life will your shoebox change?
